Plant care that knows a 45° June.

Kyari tells you what your plants are and when to water, feed and cover each one, worked out for our 45°C summers, the monsoon and January frost. The plant apps made for London don't.

A kyari is the garden bed outside the house. This one keeps track of everything in it.

Open it in the morning. See what needs you.

Today shows your city's weather and the plants that need feeding, water or cover, each with your own photo. Tick them off as you go. The camera in the middle names any plant you don't know.

A first look at the app, with plants from our own garden.

Snap a photo. Kyari tells you what it is.

Not sure what a plant is called? Take a photo. Kyari names it in English and Urdu, and fills in how to look after it where you live: water, sun, food and cold.

Frost nights

Clear January nights can reach freezing, and a pot on a roof gets colder still.

Kyari warns you the evening before, naming each plant at risk.

Apr to Jun

44°C afternoons

June days average 36°C in Islamabad, and the hottest have reached 44°C.

Kyari shortens each plant's watering for the heat, so nothing dries out.

Jul to Sep

The monsoon

Islamabad gets about 480 mm of rain in these three months.

After a downpour, Kyari tells you the pots are still wet.
